Garage Storage Systems For The Cluttered Garage

Posted by admin On January - 4 - 2010ADD COMMENTS

Are you completely frustrated with your garage? Does your car sit in the driveway because there is no room for it because of all the clutter? Garage storage systems are the answer to your organizational nightmare.

Your first step in solving this problem is to remove everything from your garage, preferably on a nice day. Put all that clutter in the backyard or the driveway. If you are lucky, people might think you are having a yard sale and start offering you money for some of your junk! Once the garage is empty, you can give it a good cleaning including a power washer for the floor. After that job is complete, you can begin installing the garage storage systems. Any items that you do not have a use for are either donated to charity, thrown in the garbage or sold at a yard sale.

Garage storage systems can come in many different forms. One such form is an extruded PVC slat wall panels. These panels are extremely strong and are easy to install. They are also easy to clean and they come in six different colors at this time, thus, there is no need to paint. Other storage accessories include overhead racks and storage systems that allow items to hang from your garage ceiling and are thus kept out of the way. Practically anything that sits in your garage can be hung up out of the way.

Garage storage systems are a cost effective way to clean up your garage. You may find that you have more space than you originally thought. The storage areas can be divided into compartments in several different areas such as overhead storage, sports equipment section, holiday supplies and workshop or tools area. Other designated sections could include firewood, vehicle supplies, lawn and garden supplies, pet supplies and garbage and recycling areas. Some people may have more or less areas needed for organizing their garage items.

Wall cabinets are great garage storage systems as well. They are good for storing smaller items. However, many people find that the overhead racks storage is best for keeping a neat and tidy garage. Use storage bins with a label of everything that is inside the bin. This helps in locating items later on. If you would prefer another option to storing things in your garage then there is always a pulley system. It allows for the storage of larger items such as a canoe, kayak, truck topper or even a wheelbarrow much easier. Another option that is to use hooks. These are placed on a sidewall and are excellent for hanging bicycles, garden tools and other items.

Garage storage systems are the perfect way for a cluttered garage to regain its original use, that of storing your car. Take a run out to your local home center or do some research on the internet to give you an idea as to what is available in this area of home storage. Whether you choose an overhead system or a wall-mounted system, you will be glad you did.

Architect
An architect will be able to do your two car garage plans for you in a very short period of time. First of all he will come round to your house and discuss your options like what type of garage you can get and how big it can be.

Once you have decided on this with him he will either measure the area himself or get a surveyor out to help him. A surveyor should get his payment from the architect so you should never have to pay him directly however, the architect may charge you more because of this. He doesn’t want to end up out of pocket. Surveyors only tend to be used on larger more industrial sized projects rather than residential ones.

Once these accurate measurements have been made he can go off and draw up a blueprint for you, the blueprint is the most essential part of the build as this contains all the information on the size and layout of your garage. The architect may then recommend a building company to you who he has used before, on one hand this is good because you can trust them but the chances are that they won’t be the cheapest option. After all, you can take your own decision.

Builders
As mentioned above, the builders will execute the two car garage plans and actually implement the blueprint. It is important to get the right team of builders as you can really regret your decisions at times. It is always important to get numerous builders round to give you a quote and never accept the first one. I recommend that you should get in the region of minimum five quotes.

Once you have this you can then weigh up the amount of time the builders have said they will take to perform the task and how much it will cost. There are a lot of ‘cowboys’ round when it comes to building and if you have a friend that has had some work done try and get the name of the firm they used, word of mouth is the best way of finding out about builders.

Once you have chosen the company, you like the building should be done fairly quickly; it is not a major project.

You can also try to implement the garage plan yourself. Today, there are plenty of sites offering you great do-it-yourself advice. You can also use prefab garage kits that come with every finer details of installation instructions. You can cut down costs considerably by opting for this method.

End Product
Once your two car garage is complete, you should then have a place to store both of your cars as well as any expensive power tools, gardening machinery or outdoor furniture.

As well as providing you with more invaluable storage space, the garage will also boost the price of your house and currently with the housing economy as bad as it is you need to do as much as possible to make your house appeal to the people who will be buying it. You should double or even triple the amount of money you spent building it by the amount the value of your house goes up because of it.

Concrete Garages | What’s in a Guarantee?

Posted by admin On January - 4 - 2010ADD COMMENTS

Recently I came to question the validity of the guarantee statement provided by one of the G3 manufacturers of concrete sectional buildings and garages. A Customer Care Promise that is unique in the industry. A commitment which promises total satisfaction. A promise which has no exclusions and no small print.

Well, one imagines if something as a simple a leak was reported this manufacturer would without quibble rectify the fault? Don’t hold your breathe.

The Garden Buildings Centre (Chesterfield) offers total commitment to its customers and we believe that we do not have a single unhappy customer. Indeed, Mr. J of Sheffield was visited by one of our own engineers within 24hrs of reporting his dissatisfaction.

You may only purchase a concrete building once or maybe twice in your lifetime and so our advice is to ignore the marketing ‘spin’, a company’s reputation is only as good as its last customer interaction. Our concrete garages use only recognised branded components from market leaders including Hörmann and Eternit; our panels 2¾ inches thick reinforced, machine vibrate pre-cast concrete panels Grade 11 ‘Classic Spar’ pebbledash finish which we believe to be thicker and denser than the majority (if not all) of our competitors. Furthermore, flush jointed concrete panels, mastic sealed and securely three-point bolted ensures longevity.

Should you experience any problems during the term of your building you can be rest assured that you are dealing with a company that has sufficient ‘clout’ and resources in order to cheerfully and swiftly put things right.
